How do the Legislative changes affect the Manitoba International Student Health Insurance Plan (MISHIP) currently offered by Great-West Life?

The current MISHIP program will remain in effect for those students who do not qualify for Manitoba Health (who have not obtained a study permit of at least 6 consecutive months) until August 31, 2012.

Students who receive coverage through Manitoba Health will no longer be eligible under the current MISHIP program.

Will there be alternative coverage available for the 2012 school year?

1.)  Provincial Health Replacement Plus program for International Students that do not qualify for Manitoba Health (comparable to the current MISHIP program)
