Changing Coverage Status: Family to Single
COVERAGE MANAGEMENT
STUDENTS
REMOVING COVERAGE FOR ELIGIBLE DEPENDENTS
If your eligible dependents no longer qualify for benefits because:
- they no longer live with you
- you have become divorced
- your child has gotten married, is 21 or older, is not financially dependent on you
you must change from family coverage to single coverage.
REFUND
You may be entitled to a partial refund.
- To change your coverage and apply for a partial refund, please provide written notification to:

- A partial refund will be considered only with written notice
- Refunds will not be provided retroactively and will be determined based on the date that your written notice is received by Aon Consulting.
- Refunds of less than $25 will not be processed.
- In your written notice, be sure to include the following:
- Once your request has been processed a new MISHIP Identification Card and your refund (if applicable) will be sent to your school.
- If you are a student at the University of Manitoba, your refund request must be approved by your school. Therefore, please contact the Registrar's Office at: (204) 474-9423.
